Kanomwan in Houston

For someone who eats traditional thai food this food is very Americanized. I asked for extra spice and wasnt spicy enough. Serves a little bit of food for way over priced food that isn't that good honestly. First time trying it and won't spent money on it anymore. If your a person who is not used to spices this is a good place for you.

Has definitely gone down slightly in quality over the past 12 years, but the best tom kha gai we’ve been able to find in Houston. Many great times here. Go for the food, not the atmosphere. (Also go support them so they can buy new chairs.)

-Outstanding Food- This place is somewhat of a Houston secret restaurant, located behind a few buildings. The Kanomwan is by far the utmost best Thai cuisine I can say that I’ve had the experience to enjoy. The mass variety of flavors surpasses the awesome array of dishes one could find at the Kanomwan. If your looking for an authentic, spice vs favor vs pure awesomeness, The Kanomwan.... is your spot!

Good quality food, just a little lacking on the breadth of the menu options. What we did have, though, was delicious. Not in the best area / setting, but that also means it is not overpriced.

Was decent . I ordered the fried rice with chicken.

One of my favorite places for tasty Thai food. I give this place two thumbs up. The staff was helpful and kind. This place has a cool design. Kinda of like a place in Houston that I enjoyed.

Thai food was good, but I remember it being better. My Tom Kha Gai was pretty salty, when it should have been sweeter. It was tasty, however, and I'll probably try another soup next time.

Hands down our favorite Thai food EVER. Been coming here for over 23 years. Service is great. Hours are a little wonky so check before you go.

I recommend satae whenever you get the chance to enjoy it. They have a good peanut sauce, and I appreciate there freshly done vegetables. The food is good, and the service was excellent. Not the best Thai food I have had but enjoyable. The superb service and unlimited rice with our order while eating family-style bumps this up to 5 stars for me.

It's an understatement to say that this place has the best Thai food in town. MUST TRY. Their tom yum soup is the best ❤❤❤

I love the H10 with Chicken and Shimp. It's not spicy at all! I went there with my brother tonight and they forgot to bring his order. He waited very patiently since, they were extraordinarily busy. They did apologize. It was difficult to find a parking space but possible.

Great food and service! Interior could use some redecorating to be more welcoming... But I have come here many times and always leave happy!

THE place to go in Houston for authentic Thai food. Yes, that means spicy in many dishes. A true hidden gem off the normal path, very much worth the trip.

Food is very good, but if you have an appetite, one dish may not be enough. Had the Nur Pad Nam Mun Hoi (beef with onions and mushrooms with oyster sauce). Place is not easy to see from Telephone Road. Follow the signs near the intersection with the fire station to find it.

If you have a thai restaurant, shouldn't the curry be one of the top dishes on the menu? Not this place. Watered down curry is not an option, dont cut cost add some more coconut milk.. Two stars because bathroom was clean.

Decline in quality over the last few years. Waitstaff indifferent and unhelpful

Have been going to this place for more than 25 years. Everyone that I have shared this place with has been a returning customer. The soups and curries are very flavorful. The chicken with cashews and chili paste must be the most popular item on the menu.

Food is delicious and authentic. Service was outstanding and friendly.

Fresh and Authentic! Best food ever. Consistency of food is what we look for. Very organized,fast service. Staff is very polite. We drive 1 hour just to eat hear.

The food here was delicious. The service was pretty good.

Disappointing. The service was horrible and the food was underwhelming. The pad thai needed more sauce and more noodles. The "H7" dish we ordered looked unappetizing and smelled like feet. Read the 1 star reviews before you try this place. They are accurate to the experience I had.

Nice spot for delicious Thai food. Visited Sat afternoon. The service was friendly and sociable. This place has a cool design. Feeling here is like a restaurant in Fort Worth I liked.

The decor is nothing to report on, but the food is delicious and unique. The Thai food has a homemade, authentic taste to it that will be different from all the other Thai places you've tried. The old-school nickname for this place is "Telephone Thai," because of where it's located. Highly recommend.

Yes it’s a hole in the place and a hole to visit !!!! It’s amazing food You have to pay for water but since I track my water intake I bring my own and it’s fine This is truly a place to visit and enjoy great food

Excellent spot for tasty thai food. Visited on Fri I believe. This place has positive reviews for a reason.

I called ahead and asked twice if they had vegetarian Panang curry, and they said yes, but once we ordered, the cook came and told us that in fact they could not make it vegetarian. The food we ended up ordering tasted stale and unappealing. Oh and the water wasn’t free. Overall, a very disappointing experience especially for Thai food lovers such as ourselves.

It's one of my favorites because, the atmosphere is quaint, intimate, and the food is superb. It's almost as if One has stepped into a Thai grandmother's kitchen. The food is wonderful!!!

Always wanted to take my wife and when finally took her for her bday i was very dissapointed....i guess i was expecting something more like the thai gourmet on richmond...

I don’t remember if I’ve reviewed this place before so forgive me if I’ve reviewed it twice. This place is excellent! The menu is not complicated with a thousand options- they do a simple, delicious menu. I love the subtlety of the flavors- a hint of lemon, a touch of ginger. None of it is insanely spicy, it’s just right!

Not authentic. Watered down curry... Best part was the music and rice.

If you're gonna try anything, try the Pat Paneng, coconut soup and/or the glass noodles. Great ice coffee here as well!

Amazing S3 and H6 with a Thai tea!

The food is amazing. Make sure you are not rushing for a quick meal when you come in. Have a little extra time to spare.

Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in Texas. Def get the H5 Pad Panang chicken.

Place is quiet and laid back. Every plate I have tried has been good so far. The only reason I am not giving this place a 5 star is due to their customer service.

This place is a hole in the wall that attracts lots of people. The food is delicious and the service is fast. They make sure to tend to you and take care of your needs.
